Do You Ever Feel Like Giving Up On Internet Marketing?

by Casey Gentles on July 10, 2010

How is it going peeps?

I just read a post on the warrior forum from someone who is considering giving up on internet marketing and so I decided to do a little post to motivate you. I know a lot of people may want to give up on internet marketing because they are not getting the results that they want. I know because I’ve been there!

Do you ever feel that way?

Do you find that you are working very hard but still can’t get those sales? Maybe you get a sale every now and then but the reality is that its not enough to make ends meet. I know exactly what you are going through. When I just started online it took me a while to figure some stuff out. To be honest with you, I still have a ton more to figure out as well.

Don’t Give Up On Your Dreams

What if Bill Gates had give up on his dreams when he dropped out of school?

What if Michael Jordan gave up because he did not make his high school basket ball team?

Do you see where I am going? If you have a dream, you need to work towards achieving it. Ocourse there will be countless roadblocks and hindrances in your way. But that’s what makes success so much sweeter when you overcome them. Internet marketing can be compared to any other thing in life. It is not a walk over and there will always be something in your way.

What you need to do is to adapt and move on.

On a more specific note, if you want internet marketing to work for you then you have to focus on one thing at a time and track just about everything you do. If you want to learn article marketing then go ahead but master if before you move on to ppc. You may FAIL at first but at least you will no what not to do the next time around.

So here are some little pointers I want to share with you:

1. Stay away from the markets that everyone else are running into – you know the make money online, the weight loss etc. btw, how can you go into the make money online niche to teach people how to make money if you can’t do it yourself? There are so many niches out there waiting for you to grab them.

2. Choose one method of marketing and master it before moving on – Article marketing, ppc marketing, video marketing etc etc. My advice though is that you start out with free methods and learn how to really market and make sales before you start to invest in paid advertising. This will help to prevent that big hole in your pockets that often happen to IM newbies who are eager to make money online but don’t have the patience to learn how to do it right!

3. Go for low competition keywords – do try to rank sites or do ppc on keywords such as ‘golf clubs’. Instead, focus on the longer tailed keywords such as ‘how to improve golf swing’. The longer tailed keywords are much easier to rank for and they also convert much better.

4. Always keep track of what you are doing. It’s about working smarter and not harder. Keeping track of what you do helps you know what is working from what is not. That way you can stick to what works and drop what doesn’t. Ever heard about the 80:20 rule?

5. Whatever you are doing, make sure you are in it to help people. Once you truly start helping people, the money will come. People want solutions to their problems and they will pay to get it. However, you must prove to them that they can trust you and you are the best person to give them what they are looking for.

I am not going to tell you that internet marketing is easy. I personally know that it is very hard and when you don’t see those sales coming in, it can be very frustrated. However, it is very important that you don’t give up. The moment you give up is the moment you fail.

Don’t give up SUCCESS is just around the corner, you just need to open the door and let it in!

have a great week.

Hi Casey. Good advice in this post. Would recommend that anyone serious about starting in IM should down load your ebook “The exact blueprint I use to make $4000+ on-line”. It is so good that I have a printed version on my desk!! I have many e books on my computer but yours is the first I have taken the trouble to print out. Thanks again it contains some extremely valuable information.

Casey

You have always been an inspiration to me, and to be honest I haven’t felt so much like quitting but just laying it down for a while. But I believe I can do it! I need to choose my niche and my method of promoting it and keep doing it, like you say.

Thanks for this timely message.

Hey Casey you put in a lot of work on ezine articles that’s how I found you. I was researching the yeast infection niche. I like your style and brutal honesty that you rarely get from an internet marketer.

I was wondering what your three products are in clickbank because I am sick of feeling like I have to be a one man army when I can just focus on vendor. I saw one of the products was the best landing pages.

Affiliate marketing sucks unless you have a decent sized list. Wonder why all the vendor’s keep telling us to focus on “Affiliate marketing,” so we can be their bitch and get them traffic like a army working for a king.

Us affiliate marketers are like ants screaming in a crowd praising the real cash cow. Its like Scarface says “First you get the money, then you get the power, then you get the respect.

You have earned enough to at least entice people that have only made a few hundred online, to release a product about how you market. I wanna see you on here —-> http://jvnotifypro.com/

For me, I am currently working on getting into a niche that has a boatload of searches and a handful of super affiliates. I don’t want to mention too many details but its waiting to be pounced on.

I want a army. I am really disgusted with clickbank’s money making products, they are so much hype with the same bull over and over. I went through Clickbank wealth formula and it sucks.

I figure if I am going to put in massive work I should just only pump out products and build a list. Just imagine if one of your products grabs hold of a super affiliate.

Just wanted to say keep up the good work and i’ll be visiting your blog so keep posting. Great 80k goal. You should make it more so you force yourself to think bigger.

You should come up with a product called Google’s Article Serial Killer. 2k plus articles with over 600k views makes your eyeballs get big. I can’t step into the make money niche yet, because I would be that phony guy you know is trying to sell you a dream.

I will get there. If you ever want to work on a product together, I will put in a lot of work just to learn from you. Thanks for reading

Hey James,

First off, let me welcome you to my blog. Really glad to have you here.

Next thanks for that link, first I am seeing that site :)

I am also very grateful for your kind words. Truth is, I try to be honest and upfront with everyone. Makes no sense to lie and try to scam people because in the long run you will get caught.

You are also right that if you want to really make it big, you have to have a ton of affiliates doing the work for you. That’s all of us aim. However, I am trying to start slow and scale things up.

I want to genuinely help people along the way. If you notice, I hardly have any IM products. Not that I don’t want to but I want to do well in niche markets so that everyone can see the bigger picture.

That’s why I have this blog. So that people can come here, get a wealth of information and then make life easier for themselves.

Once again thanks for visiting and for your kind words and I look forward to hearing from you again.

Take Care!

Casey you would not be scamming people by releasing a product in the Im market you would probably be one of the more honest programs. My point of writing to you was to say that the vendor wins and affiliates are like a one man army. It makes most since to work like a king than a knight.

All of the articles written could have been over 20 products and just imagine if you had one super affiliate. That 80k goal would be complete. No one should think or start small, why? The video called Will’s Wisdom on you tube tells you not to be realistic. Listening to Will Smith makes sense.

I don’t want the rest of the affiliates to catch on to this but its similar to the job market and brick and mortar businesses back in the day. They used to say 9 out of 10 businesses fail and discourage people from owning their own businesses. Why? So they can have you work for them and make them rich.

Same on here, affiliates promoting any where from 70-97% of the vendors traffic generation and the vendor getting 1 mil weeks in record time. Its best to be the VENDOR!!! Well I am going to work on my first product. It will be knocked out in the next 7 days.

Future for me is to complete a product a month and no I will not be scamming people. I am here to solve problems. There will be many niches. I will not be just an affiliate. I will rarely do affiliate marketing unless product impacts my life.

Can you say that the stop sweating impacted your life of yeast infection cure? No so you are technically sending people blindly to just another offer. Creating your own products eliminates your problem with not having expert status and puts the control in your court of building a army. Plus you will no for a fact that the product is quality and that you believe in the info.

But hey you can continue small and scale it up as you go, or you can think big and make power moves now. Your choice…

Oh and I went and rated like 10-13 of your articles just to show you love and make your articles stand out with the 5 star rating. Hey maybe in several months I might be in a position to really convince you to work on a joint venture project with me and recruit some affiliate, ppc and seo related stuff. Until then, im going back to Vendor grinding.

Peace and love my brother. Oh, one last thing, you should start a new pen name under your girl’s name and have her picture for the products you promote that are more women sensitive like curing yeast infection. If I was a woman I would more likely be more prone to liking to see a woman in the picture and would probably give you higher click through rate.

Darren July 16, 2010 at 8:28 am

You never lied on this one! I have seen a lot of people give up before they finish. They don’t realize success was just around the corner if they stuck it out.

powfada July 17, 2010 at 7:50 am

Hey James,

Thanks for the support man I really appreciate it.

Oh and by the way, I have several ‘women’ pen names that I submit other yeast infection and other women related articles with :)

Thanks for looking out for me though :)

Peace

I started IM biz for almost 1 year, never thought of giving up so far, because I know I will quit my 9-5 job within 3 years, I just gradually do things to shorten the gap to my goals. make plans and take real actions. That’s the first step to keep you from giving up :)

Hope everyone here will achieve their goals soon.
Cheers
