The title of the post says it all.
I was just thinking to myself, on how I could give some tips and ideas on how to help someone to get their internet business up and running if they only had $50 to start out with.
#1. *** The first thing I would do is to chose A Business Model which is Affiliate Marketing.
Why????
Well knowing what I know now, I can say that affiliate marketing is one of the easiest way to get set up and running to start making money online. All you need to do is to promote someone else product or service and get a share of the profits.
No Customer Service, No Answering Of Email, & You don’t even Need your own website. Cool eh?
At this point, we still have our $50 Dollars!
#2 *** So the next thing I would do is to find a product to promote. This means that I would have to do Proper Market Research to find a hungry crowd. i.e A common group of people with a common need. I will also look for the best product that will satisfy that hungry crowd.
Note I wont go in ‘market research’ here but you can download a free copy of “The Newbies Fast Cash Guide” for a step by step process on how to do it.
Ok So Let’s say that based on my research I found a profitable market, what will I do next?
#3 *** The first thing I would do, is to get a domain name that is closely related to the market I chose. Now I wouldn’t be doing much SEO so the keywords in the domain name is not of much importance to me at this point. It just need to be related to the market. For example if it was the weight loss market, I could have something like: fastweightloss.com or rapidfatloss.com etc, etc.
#4 *** Now that is about $8- $10 gone already. SO now I need a reliable web host to host my domain name. So I would research to find the Best Web Host and sign up for a monthly plan. You can get web host for about $4- $5 per month.
So let’s say we have $35 left!!
#5 *** I would spend a day and do some preliminary research and write a 5 page report that caters to the market I chose. SO again lets use the weight loss market. I could write a report about “Top 10 Tips For rapid weight loss” or “5 Tips To Lose Belly Fat That You Need To Know” etc. etc. I would also place my affiliate link at various section in the report for the product that I am promoting. You get the idea right? Once the report is complete, I would use the free software at Open Office to convert it into a pdf file.
I will be giving away this report for free in return for peoples email addresses!
#6 *** SO I now need a medium to collect these email addresses as well as to deliver my free report. i.e I need an Auto-Responder service. SO I would sign up with Getresponse Auto-Responder Service for $17.95 for one month. Also, think the offer a 30 day free trial so I may not even need to spend that $17.95. Well since I am not too sure, let’s say we have $35- $17.95 = $17.05 LEFT.
#7 *** I am going pretty good so far!!! Now I will set up my squeeze page to give away my free report. This is a simple page with a captivating headline and some Importnt Bullet Points about my free report. There will also be an opt-in box for my visitors to submit their name and email addresses.
So the only actions my vistors can take are:
a. they submit their name and email addresses to get my free report or
b. Leave my website.
Now here is a little trick: When my visitors opt-in, they will be re-directed to the merchants page immediately. So there an then, they will be presented with the offer and if they buy immediately I get the commision.
However, If they don’t buy immediately, I have their name and email addresses to build a relationship with them overtime and send the offer in the future. At this time they will trust me and more likely to buy. Get the idea?
Note We still Have $17.05 LEFT!!!!!
#8 *** I would now do Proper Keyword Research (as outlined in the Newbie’s Fast Cash Guide) and get as much keywords as I could possibly can. I would then write a MINIMUM of 5 Articles everyday and submit them to Ezinearticles with a link to my squeeze page in my resource box. Once my articles are approved on ezinearticles, I would then submit them to the other top ten article directories.
So After 30 Days, I should have at least 30 X 5 = 150 Articles sending traffic to my squeeze page. You Must Understand that this is serious work
Now after the 30 Days, I should be getting subscribers and sales!!
So now I have a list of targeted subscribers, I can promote new products to them, I can ask them their problems and use my profits to hire someone to create a product that satisfy their problems.
And Then, I rinse and repeat in a new Market……….
Note I didn’t even use all of my Initial $50 Dollars!!

Great post!! A very good business model that many can learn from. You’ve said more in this short post than a lot of the so-called experts do in the many ebooks I’ve read. Of course there are details involved in the above steps but you’ve nailed it in your summary.
As I said, the steps you outline above are right on target. However, my approach would be a little different. Obviously I would do the research with picking a niche and finding the viable keywords. I would then utilize the free 30 day trial with Get Response using a free site such as blogger for my capture page. I would deliver my report as an email series.
I would then buy a domain and use it as a redirect to a product page. Since EZA allows 2 links in the resource box, I would use the domain as one link and the other to the sign up page on blogger. These would be put in the articles I submit, obviously.
I would also use some other free sites to put up a page and interlink them and point them to my capture page.
The rest of the money I would use to outsource some backlinking(not just any kind) to my best article to drive it up the SERPS. That would enable me to leverage that article to it’s fullest. Of course the keyword has to be a great one and the article must be optimized accordingly.
I feel like this would allow me to not only build a list but to also make a few bucks in the process.
With the money that is made in the first 30 days, I would then pay for the next month’s Get Response bill and buy another domain with hosting and ramp it up. I would continue to build my presence in this niche and get it to a healthy monthly income before I moved onto the next niche.
From there it would just be rinse and repeat, obtaining only the tools that I actually needed to further my business.

Awesome post Casey! You make it seem a lot easier than it really is. I think what a lot of people have a problem with (or at least I do…) is actually setting up a squeeze page with the proper heading, description, images, etc.
Split testing is another problem that I have a issue with as well as writing web copy. Instead of spending a day writing a preliminary report, couldn’t you just purchase a PLR ebook about the document and edit as you see fit?
Also, it would be very very helpful if you could do a post about squeeze pages and how to actually create them (do you use wordpress, joomla, or html editors?)

What a great post!
The first thing I would do if I only had $50 starting over again would be the following:
My aim would be to find a niche I was comfortable in and set up a authority site.
Step 1.
After doing my keyword research I would then go and purchase a domane name that is linked to my keywords. ( Cost = $8 )
Step 2.
I would then set up a wordpress blog and find a suitable free theme such as the flexability theme. Cost = Free
Step 3.
I would then head over to get response and sign up for there auto responder to set up my email capture. cost = $17.95
Step 4. Like yourself I would then write a five page or so report which offers my reader information on the chosen niche in return for there email address.
In the report i would make sure my affiliate links where embedded to earn commision on affiliate products I would recommend.
Step 4. I would then head over to the warrior forum, elance and rentacoder and search for writers who are prepared to write me some articles with the money I have left.
You can get articles written for about $3-5 each so you could be looking at about 5-6 articles written for you in your chosen niche with the money left.
This would get your blogging campaign of to a flyer and motivate you to keep going.
Step 5. I would then place all the articles on my blog
Step 6. I would then make it my aim to write at least 2 articles everyday on my blog.
Step 7. I would then take every article i wrote and including the ones i got outsourced and rewrite each one and place them on Ezine articles with a link back to my website.It really does only take about 10 minutes to re-write an article.
Step 8.I would make sure also to do the following:
Ping every day through Pingoat
Stumble each post and article on stumbleupon
Submit each each post and article on Digg
Place my ezine article feed and website feed on every rss feed aggravator I knew.
Step 9. Then as there should be money coming in by now I would go back to elance and get 25 articles written and would then place them in to my get response auto responder with links to affiliate products and my website.
I would set the articles to go out once every 2 weeks ,so this would give you a years worth of articles going out to each subscriber who signed up and received your free report.
Step 10 . By this time I would seriously consider outsourcing all my articles and set them up on wordpress to be published every few days ,so about 30 articles would count for about a years worth of post,which then would give you less time to spend on your blog.
Given that you would have more time available ,you could then rinse and repeat or build a review site or write an e-book.
This is what I would do

The first thing I would do is find a better niche. The second thing would be to not stress out and overanalyze things i.e keyword research, article writing, etc. The third thing I would do is not give up. After 2 sales, less than a 1% conversion I gave up. Hoping to start back up again soon. When you know better you do better. So hopefully will learn from my mistakes and head down the right path.
